Programs The Telluride Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of year
round programs for Youth and adults in Town Park, at the school gyms, in
the Bear Creek Preserve, and at the Youth Link.
Our staff provides assistance to the Commission for Arts and
Special Events ( CASE ) and the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Our department also manages and approves the applications for Town
Park core area reservations, banners, street closures, and pocket park
reservations. Our Parks
Division maintains the ball fields, ice rinks, cross-country trails,
pocket parks, flower baskets, holiday decorations and our campground.
They also keep the Free Box clean, manage Spring Clean-up, and
organize the Arbor Day Celebration.

Reservations
The Town Park warming hut and core area may be reserved between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on specific dates that do not conflict with other uses. This area must remain open to the public at all times and there is a 4 hour maximum per rental. One reservation per day. All other Town Park facilities are on a first come, first served basis. Call us at 728-2173 at least two weeks in advance for a request form. A clean-up deposit is also required.

Youth Link is an activity and resource center for boys and girls ages 10 – 18. Programs focus on service learning, outdoor education, skate boarding, and enrichment courses. Please call Youth Link or check the Parks and Recreation bi-weekly calendar for hours of operation, events and scheduled programs.

We offer T-ball for ages 5 & 6, Coach’s Pitch baseball for boys ages 7 & 8, Coach’s Pitch softball for girls ages 7-9, Fast Pitch Softball for girls ages 10–12, and Little League Baseball for boys 9 – 12.

Bear Creek Preserve
In 1995, the San Miguel Conservation Foundation and the Town of Telluride acquired the 320 acres adjacent to Town Park now known as the Bear Creek Preserve. The Bear Creek Trail can be accessed from the South end of Pine Street. Interpretive maps are available at the Information Center in Town Park for $1.00.
Bear Creek Ranger Activities
